Parent Perspective: Stories of Hope
Receiving a diagnosis of autism can be devastating to some parents, but for others it can be a relief to have a label for their child's symptoms. Many parents are overwhelmed by fear and grief for the loss of the future they had hoped for their child. However, these strong emotions also motivate parents to find effective help for their children.
Contrary to what you may hear from outmoded professionals or read in outmoded books, Autism IS Treatable. The earlier these children receive appropriate treatment, the better their prognosis. The parents at Talk About Curing Autism (TACA is also en Español) have developed strategies to encourage you to act quickly for your child's benefit - it's critical to find effective services, treatments and education for your child as soon as possible.
